faq
Check out some of the most frequently asked questions.
Can I say "Liftoff!" after drawing a card?
No! Your turn ends as soon as you move to the Refueling phase, that is, when you draw a card. You can initiate liftoff at any time before this.
If I use the "Preventive Maintenance" card and take a "High Volatility Flu" from my opponent, do I need to discard it?
No. "Preventive Maintenance" is a card with an exchange effect, not a looking effect. Yes, you see the card when you add it to your hand, but the looking effect is only activated by the "Risk Analysis" card or the "Neptune" destination (and, possibly, future promos that specifically say "look").
What if more than one player presses the button at the same time?
Well, the copilot is the one who presses it first, meaning their hand is below the hands of the other players. We know that sometimes fingers get tangled, and it can be tough to decide. In these cases, the choice is up to the players... either no one is copilot on that mission, or you can settle it with "rock-paper-scissors" or by playing another game, with the winner becoming the copilot (we recommend a Sushi Rush challenge), it’s up to you.
DESTINATIONS
Mercury
You must have two face-up cards (orange cards) in your play area, meaning cards you’ve played on the table, before you can say "Liftoff!"
Venus
Whoever initiates liftoff will lose a random card from their available cards on the table. Always calculate with the risk of losing your "F.L.U. Stock" if you say "Liftoff!"
Earth
No special effect. Take a deep breath, thank the Decolar Corp. executives, and proceed.
Moon
When saying "Liftoff!" the mission ends and the cards are revealed, with no race for button pressing. A great chance to score solo! On the other hand, if it goes wrong, it’s entirely your fault.
Mars
As soon as someone says "Liftoff!" reveal the top three cards from the deck and add their F.L.U. to the liftoff requirement.
Example: With four players, the liftoff requirement for Mars is 14 F.L.U. Upon liftoff, Gabriel reveals three cards—a "First Class Seats" (2 F.L.U.), a "Risk Analysis" (1 F.L.U.), and a "High Volatility Flu" (2 F.L.U.), adding a total of 5 F.L.U. to the initial requirement. When counting the cards on the table, he would need 19 F.L.U. for the liftoff to succeed.
Jupiter
Liftoff is simple but has a specific setting that can cause major issues. With 3-4 players, liftoff fails if there are exactly 16 F.L.U. (or below 15), while with 4-5 players it fails if there are exactly 21 F.L.U. (or below 20).
Saturn
During liftoff, when revealing the face-down (gray) cards, if there are at least three "High Volatility Flu" cards on the table, regardless of whose play areas they are in, liftoff fails. Time to bring out those "Risk Analysis" cards.
Uranus
Simply take the entire deck and turn it upside down so that the face with the card names, effects, and F.L.U. amounts is now facing up. Now you can see the cards your opponents are drawing, but they also see the cards you draw.
Neptune
All your gray cards (played face-down) automatically gain the effect "Secretly look at one card in play," as if they were a weaker version of "Risk Analysis." You play a card face-down and look at another face-down card. Simple as that.
Pluto
At the start of the mission, before the first player places a card, each player draws a card from the top of the deck (without looking) and places it in their play area. Everyone starts with a face-down card.
BHOLD-3R (Promo)
All players start the mission with 6 cards in hand, but they do not draw new cards until they’ve played their last card on the table. Choose carefully which cards to play and when to initiate liftoff, as the mission is likely to end before you can draw more cards.
Charon (Promo)
Being the Copilot has never been riskier! Do you want to press the liftoff button? Then be prepared to discard all cards in your play area. Calculating the F.L.U. needed to start liftoff gets tricky when anyone can be the copilot and discard the cards you were counting on.
