How to Play

faq

Check out some of the most frequently asked questions.

How do predators feed?
Predators are alwayson the prowl, but the actual feeding occurs only at the end of the game. In other words, you are always tallying up the prey each predator is hunting, but this can change with each round.

What are the meat symbols on the prey for?
These symbols show how much this prey satisfies a predator's hunger. A predator only hunts a prey if it is hungry enough to hunt the entire prey (for example: at least 2 hunger to hunt a prey with 2 meat symbols).

Note: Regardless of how many meat symbols a prey has, it gives only one point for the predator hunting it.

If, for example, a male rabbit moves on the board, encountering two female rabbits, does it have offspring with both?
Yes! And if it happens to encounter another male rabbit as well, that male rabbit is also removed from the game.

SPECIAL CARDS
Don't forget to activate any new interactions that occur when a special card is played.

Sloth
Choose any prey and move it to the beginning of the column (closest space to the predator) it is in. Drag any prey that was before it downward.

Vulturehoose a prey from the discard pile and play it normally at the end of a column of your choice.

Rat
Choose two prey that have at least one cub token on them and switch their positions. The prey can be in any column and do not need to be adjacent.

Beaver
Choose two prey in the first row and switch their positions. The prey can be in any column and do not need to be adjacent.

Elk
The Elk is a special prey. Place the card at the beginning of any column (closest space to the predator) and drag the other prey downward. The Elk generates 1 point normally like any other prey.

Bird
The Bird is a special prey. Place the card at the beginning of any column (closest space to the predator) and drag the other prey downward. Then, place a cub token on the Bird. The Bird and its offspring generate points normally like any other prey.

Owl
Check which prey have cub tokens on them and choose up to one in each column. Remove one cub token from each of them.

Chameleon
The chameleon is somewhat of a protector for any prey card. When it is placed on a prey card, that prey no longer interacts with other prey and is not hunted by the predator. However, it still generates 1 point for its guardian.

Ferret
Choose any prey and move it to the end of the column (farthest space from the predator) it is in. Drag any prey that was below it upward.

Armadillo
Choose one of the predator's columns. Swap the prey at the beginning (closest space to the predator) with the prey at the end (farthest space from the predator).

Frog
Choose two prey in the same column that are vertically adjacent (one above the other). Swap their positions.

Deer
Choose two prey in the same row that are horizontally adjacent (side by side). Swap their positions.

Wolf
The wolf is here to aid a predator. Place the card on any predator. This predator now has a maximum hunger of 6 instead of four.

Bat
Choose two prey of the same species and swap their positions. The prey can be in any column and do not need to be adjacent.
