How to play
faq
Check out some of the most frequently asked questions.
If I forget one of my recipes, can I check it again?
No. An important part of the game is memorizing your cards and staying alert to the changes that occur.
When I use the "Peek at a Card" effect, does it have to be one of my cards?
No. You can look at any player's card.
Can I use the effect of one of my recipes that I discarded on the table?
No. You only use effects when you draw a recipe and automatically discard it. Never when discarding one of your old recipes (when replacing with a new one or by the Storing in the Pantry action).
Using the effect of a card, can I exchange one of my recipes with the player who ask for "Serving the King"?
Of course! If he had the courage to ask for Serving the King, he pretty much put a target on his back, right?
What happens when there are no more cards in the deck?
At that moment the King is automatically served. All players reveal their cards and check the result (or choose helpers, if you are playing the full mode).
I found the helpers confusing. Can I play without them?
Of course. Just score according to the player's position in that round and the number of players.
E.g., The first player in a three-player game receives 3 points and the last one receives 1 point. At the end of three rounds, the winner is the one with the most points.
KING CARDS
The detailed description of each King card on the game.
Greedy King
This is the king of the basic game mode. He likes the best recipes all the realm.
The winner is the one with the lowest sum among all their cards.
Picky King
This king likes things exactly his way, neither more nor less.
The winner is the one with the highest total sum among all their cards, but without exceeding 11.
E.g., In the case of the total sum: Guilherme 10 | Marcio 8 | Gabriel 12 | Luciano 13 The winner is Guilherme, the second place goes to Marcio, the third place to Gabriel, and the last to Luciano.
Ogre King
This king likes the nastiest foods in all the realm.
At the end of the game, each player's score is equal to their lowest value recipe.
The winner is the one with the highest score.
E.g., In the case of each player's recipes being:
Guilherme 2, 9, and 15 | Marcio 8, 9, 10, and 15 | Gabriel 9, 9, and 10 | Luciano -1, 2, 5, and 15
The score for each player is as follows:
Guilherme 2 | Marcio 8 | Gabriel 9 | Luciano -1
The winner is Gabriel, the second place goes to Marcio, the third place to Guilherme, and the last to Luciano.
Elven Queen of the Seas
This queen has a strong opinion about seafood recipes!
At the end of the game, players check how many sea creature cards they have (3, 4, and 5).
Whoever has the lowest number is the winner. The tiebreaker is made by the lowest total sum.
E.g., Marcio has no sea creature cards, Guilherme has two, Gabriel one, and Luciano one. Marcio is the winner. Gabriel is in second place because his total sum was 8, while Luciano's was 10.
Dead King
This king is on a diet (for obvious reasons) and wants to eat as little as possible.
He changes the rule of the action Store in the Pantry. In this game, you do not discard equal recipes, but those of immediately higher or lower value.
E.g., Guilherme discarded a card with a value of 9 on the table. Any player can discard an 8 or a 7 over it. But still, only the fastest player manages.
